Many people may not understand the full meaning behind the term “fur baby”, but those of us who use this term know the full extent to this title. This title is simply another term for pet, but to those of us who absolutely love and spoil our pets, they are like our children, hence the term fur baby.
I thought I would share some pictures and details of my babies just so you can get to know me a little bit more.
Ella
One of the loves of my life, is my fur baby Ella. She is a 7 year old Shih-Tzu who brings nothing but happiness and laughter to my life. I found Ella at a flea market and she was all alone in the breeder’s pen because nobody wanted to take home the runt of the litter who had two different color eyes. One look at her and she had me hooked and she has been spoiled ever since.
She loves her treats and knows how to use her adorable personality to have them at any opportunity. For her birthday this past July we bought her a special treat from The Donut Bar in San Diego, CA during our trip. She is very calm and tends to relax on the sofa for the majority of the day, until her random hyper attacks hit where she sprints around the apartment in a mad dash to nowhere.
Simba
My other mischievous fur baby is Simba. Friends of mine found Simba underneath a trailer when he was only a couple weeks old, so of course I took him home and he has never left. His favorite activities are antagonizing Ella, turning on and off the lights in the apartment, and bolting towards the first sound of water from the sink or shower so he can have a sip.
Simba absolutely loves Christmas time, for one reason, the Christmas tree. No matter the size he will find a way to get to the top and nestle in comfortably. This of course includes knocking down any ornament or light that is in his way. Unfortunately he tends to forget his size, which has led us to having to secure the Christmas tree so it does not fall over as he makes his way to the top. The picture below was taken years ago during his first Christmas tree experience.
Believe it or not, the two of them get along very well and are a very loving brother and sister. They both bring nothing but love to my life and always keep it interesting and entertaining.
