Throwing a spur of the moment get together is always fun, but stressful. Adding an easy, delicious party appetizer everyone will love to your routine makes the party even better and a little less daunting.
Below is a very quick, healthy, patriotic appetizer to serve or take with you to any get together.
What you will need
Please keep in mind that the amount of fruit and pretzels you will buy depends on how large your rectangular platter will be. Always buy a little more than needed to fill the plate so you can replenish your “flag” when needed.
♥ Strawberries or Watermelon (Any red fruit will do)
♥ Greek yogurt covered pretzels or raisins (You can also use white chocolate covered pretzels/raisins, but this is not as healthy of an option) – TIP: Buy your choice in bulk to save some money.
♥ Blueberries
♥ Rectangular Platter to serve
Steps
1.Wash and clean the fruit which you are going to use.
TIP: If I use strawberries I cut off the stem so people do not have to worry about finding the trash or placing them all over the counter.
2. Place the blueberries in the top left corner.
TIP: I wash mine and keep it in the same container from the store so I can keep those which are left untouched. Also, one less dish or item to clean. I am all about making life easy! If you do this, make sure you wash the container as well.
3. Start from the top of the plate creating the red row of the flag with your red fruit, whether it is strawberries or watermelon.
4. Underneath the top row, create the second row with your yogurt covered pretzels.
5. Alternate between the strawberries and pretzels to complete the rows. Continue this pattern until the rectangular plate is covered and your flag is complete!
